- Get 500 gm chicken on bone, curry cut,
- Prepare 4-5 tbsp mustard oil,

- Prepare 1 tbsp fresh cream,
- Make ready Pinch crushed kasoori methi,
- Prepare 1/2 tsp garam masala powder,
Note: I usually buy whole chicken skinned. Heat enough oil, fry the bay leaves. Add the chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw smells goes away. Posto Murgi / Chicken in a Poppy Seeds Curry is a lightly spiced very Bengali chicken curry.
Instructions to make Posto Murgi or Poppy Chicken:
- Take a wok, add oil, heat it.
- Add whole garam masala, sauté it for a sec.
- Now add chicken, stir fry it till water evaporates.
- Now add ginger garlic paste, stir fry it for a while.
- Add onion paste, sprinkle some water, stir fry it for a while.
- Lower the flame now, cover it with the lid, cook it till pink.
- Open the lid now add kaju posto paste & salt, stir fry it for a while.
- Now add dhania powder & garam masala powder, stir it nicely.
- Add dahi & fresh cream, mix it well, stir fry it for a while.
- Lower the flame now, cover it with the lid, cook it till oil separates.
- Add kasoori methi, mix it well. Sprinkle some water, cover it again, gives dum for 7-10 minutes.
- Switch off the flame, open the lid after a while.
- Take out in a serving bowl, garnish it with chopped dhania patta.
- Have it with Tandoori Roti or Nan.
- For Kaju paste—- 10-12 kaju, 2 tbsp posto dana, 7-8 badam & 5-6 green chilli. Grind them together & make a fine paste.
