  1. Get 500 gm chicken on bone, curry cut,
  2. Prepare 4-5 tbsp mustard oil,

  4. Get 1 bari Elaichi,

  6. Take 4-5 , laung,
  7. Get 5-7 kali mirch sabut
  8. Get 1 pc dalchini,
  9. Prepare 4 choti Elaichi,
  10. Get 1 tsp garlic paste,
  11. Get 1/2 tsp ginger paste,
  12. Get 2 tbsp each onion paste, kaju,badam, green chilli & posto paste,
  13. Take 1 tsp dhania powder,
  14. Take to taste salt ,
  15. Prepare 1 tbsp dahi
  16. Prepare 1 tbsp fresh cream,
  17. Make ready Pinch crushed kasoori methi,
  18. Prepare 1/2 tsp garam masala powder,

Note: I usually buy whole chicken skinned. Heat enough oil, fry the bay leaves. Add the chopped onions, ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw smells goes away. Posto Murgi / Chicken in a Poppy Seeds Curry is a lightly spiced very Bengali chicken curry.

Instructions to make Posto Murgi or Poppy Chicken:
  1. Take a wok, add oil, heat it.
  2. Add whole garam masala, sauté it for a sec.
  3. Now add chicken, stir fry it till water evaporates.
  4. Now add ginger garlic paste, stir fry it for a while.
  5. Add onion paste, sprinkle some water, stir fry it for a while.
  6. Lower the flame now, cover it with the lid, cook it till pink.
  7. Open the lid now add kaju posto paste & salt, stir fry it for a while.
  8. Now add dhania powder & garam masala powder, stir it nicely.
  9. Add dahi & fresh cream, mix it well, stir fry it for a while.
  10. Lower the flame now, cover it with the lid, cook it till oil separates.
  11. Add kasoori methi, mix it well. Sprinkle some water, cover it again, gives dum for 7-10 minutes.
  12. Switch off the flame, open the lid after a while.
  13. Take out in a serving bowl, garnish it with chopped dhania patta.
  14. Have it with Tandoori Roti or Nan.
  15. For Kaju paste—- 10-12 kaju, 2 tbsp posto dana, 7-8 badam & 5-6 green chilli. Grind them together & make a fine paste.
