- Get 1 cup maida / all-purpose flour
- Take 1 1/2 cup Leftover sugar syrup
- Prepare 7-8 tbsp ghee

- Collect all of your leftover sugar syrup in a bowl.
- To that add 1 kg flour / flour according to the sugar syrup.
- Now add 7-8 tbsp of ghee to the flour
- Now knead the dough with the sugar syrup.
- Let the dough rest for 10 mins
- Now take a peice of dough, roll it under rolling pin.
- Now cut the shakar Pare in either rhombus shape / square shape.
- For cutting rhombus first cut all the sides vertically and then cut diagnoly. For square cut them vertically and horizontally.
- Now fry these on a low- medium flame until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Tasty shakar Pare with leftover sugar syrup is ready……
However, this crunchy 'Jali Shakar Pare', dipped in sugar syrup, can be. Shakkarpara is different from shankarpali which is from the Maharashtrian cuisine. The difference being that shankarpali is made with a sweet dough and it is not coated with any sugar syrup. Whereas shakkarpara is made with an unsweetened dough and later coated in sugar syrup. So the taste and texture of both are completely different.
